My birthday falls on Valentines Day - born around noon, right smack dab in the middle of the day. Nothing wishy washy about that!
I am blessed to be able to celebrate this day with saint and martyr, Saint Valentine. My dear friend on A Widows Walk, details his life and I am thrilled to know that part of his story is that he aided Christians couples and officiated over their marriages!
Today is all about L-O-V-E. Saint Valentine, who so loved God was martyred in part, because he tried to convert Emperor Claudius.
What better love is there than the love of God, who is so crazy about us? He never leaves us, He never forsakes us, He is always for us - He is our Biggest Champion.
With a love like that, you know you should be glad...(sorry Beatles - this one is for God!)
The flowers are courtesy of my eldest brother, his wife and their two sons. My brother and their eldest son are both in Iraq, so today, please say a prayer for their safety and for all those who are serving our country honorably.
Pray too please for the victims of war - those who are unborn and fighting to be born and for those who are born and fighting to stay alive.
Lord hear our prayer - and THANK YOU LORD FOR MY GIFT OF LIFE. Let me never take it for granted, let me always stay with my eyes firmly focused upon YOU!
