Within the chalk line

Many months ago the boys went on a hike with their Boy Scout buddies. Along the way, they came upon a chalk outline and true to form, Gabriel decided to recline in position.

Coloring between the lines is something that has been highly regarded as a life skill for young children - but why I am not too sure. Positioning one's self within the lines is another thing.

How far do we go to make sure that we are in conformity with society? How much personality are we permitted to have and still belong to the 'in' group.

We all want to fit in. In our current society, that fitting in also requires that we leave a lot of good discernment behind. I have been accused, thank you Lord, of being too religious, being too pro-life, being too . . .

When we come to Christ we become a new creation in Him. The past is firmly in the past and the present is where we stand with Him in union with the angels and saints.

As for me and my household, we will continue to color outside the lines of society and within the lines of God's will for our lives.
