pushing sexual agenda at school

Today was a day of silence at the local high school. It was sponsored by the Gay Straight Alliance to further their sexual agenda.

From the high school bulletin this morning came this -

Today is the National Day of Silence.  GSA is going to participate in this event held in many schools across the country to bring attention to anti-LGBT bullying, harassment and discrimination in schools. Members of the GSA will maintain silence all day long TODAY.We are observing the Day in Silence to echo the silence that LGBT students and their allies face everyday. Students who are participating will have cards or slips of paper that say the following: “Please understand my reasons for not speaking today. I am participating in the Day of Silence, a national youth movement protesting the silence faced by lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people and their allies in schools. My deliberate silence echoes the silence, which is caused by harassment, prejudice, and discrimination. I believe that ending the silence is the first step toward fighting these injustices. Think about the voices you are not hearing today. What are YOU doing to end the silence?"

Well, having had friends that have died from AIDS and domestic violence (two shot to death by their homosexual lovers) I have concerns about the homosexual life style. Fact is, it is not glamorous or healthy. Homosexuals have higher rates of drug and alcohol abuse, disease (HIV/AIDS, hepatitis to name two) and suicide rates than non homosexuals. The homosexual lifestyle promotes promiscuity and detracts from normal family life.

I have a real difficult time with any group furthering their moral agenda on others at the expense of academics

I called the school and was put through to the vice principal. He assured me several times that there was nothing about sexual behavior on the cards that the students were handing out. That turned out to be false. He told me he would write a memo to the other people, i.e. his two bosses and I asked to be copied in.

Without further ado, here is the exchange...

Subject: Day of Silence

I wanted to let you know this morning we had a community member and parent, Leanne M. call to voice her opposition to GSA’s Day of Silence.  She believes that the activity is disruptive to the learning environment and that the group has a political message that should not be allowed in school.  I explained that I would record and keep note of her objection to the club’s activity.

Craig Johnson

Assistant Principal

North Mason High School

360.277.2164

I wrote back to Mr. Johnson ...

Thank you Mr. Johnson.

I would also like to add that Mr. Johnson was unaware of the sexual agenda that was put on the cards. I strongly object to the furthering of the homosexual agenda within our public schools. The words I used with Mr. Johnson were "political agenda" and not political message. There is a difference between the two.

I have voiced my concerns over the GSA club because its primary purpose is to further their sexual orientation and truly, this is not necessary. They duplicate what the SAFE club already does, but the SAFE club does not have the sexual agenda.

While I was writing, an email came in from Ted Jansen; Principal of the High School and here is what he said...

Subject: RE: Day of Silence

She called last year too.  Glad it was your turn.  She is looking for a sympathetic ear and has not found one at NMHS on this particular topic.

I had a good chuckle over that and wrote back -

Oh my goodness, Mr. Jansen - I don't think you meant to copy me in on this.

Gee - educators that are not open to hearing another point of view.

Blessings -

Then, I finished the letter I was composing to reply to Mr. Johnson which ended like this...

And for the record, Mr. Jansen, I am not looking for a sympathetic ear. I am looking for educators and administrators to do their jobs and not further any one particular agenda which has nothing to do with the academics of the students at North Mason High School.

Blessings

I called Mr. Jansen and told him that although I am only one voice, there are thousands of others who think like I do - that furthering sexual agendas at the public schools is nonsense. He told me that they were against bullying and harassment - I told him that they bully me when they do not listen to what I have to say and do not take into consideration that a community member objects to this club.

Mr Jansen then wrote me another email -

It’s OK, you know what we think about bullying, harassment, discrimination.  We are opposed to all forms of discrimination, against any group.

To which I replied -

Mr. Jansen - great way to cover your tracks!

I am also against bullying, harassment and discrimination, so I am glad we are on the same page.

Blessings -

The sad part is that two days ago, the student body was in mourning for a young fourteen year old that was killed in a car accident as he was being driven to school by his brother. His brother Josh is in critical condition at our trauma care center in Seattle. The mourning students were very subdued and silent on Wednesday. This is a normal way of grieving - and I am shocked at the insensitivity of the administrators and the GSA club for having this day of silence so soon afterwards.

Oh wow. Me thinks the dear principal sent that email a bit too quickly and didn't realize who it was going out to... :)

In any case, THANK YOU Lee Anne so much for standing up for the students of this high school! You are truly an inspiration...

In the same respect, I am shocked that you can support people who flaunt pictures of dead babies so soon after grieving mothers have lost their children. You seem very adamant about pushing an agenda on other people, so long as you agree with it.

Dear Anonymous - I have already written to your objection...and that is, that a baby that is miscarried has already passed away before the mother's body begins to reject it, thus it is called a "spontaneous abortion."

Quite frankly, this particular post was on people who struggle with same sex attraction, which has nothing to do with abortion.

I have had a miscarriage - I remember how traumatizing it was, and remains to this day, nearly 40 years later.

I have already written to your objection on the graphic photographs - my baby that was miscarried had not been pulled apart by medical instruments, it passed from my body by very natural means. The photos that are graphic are not those of miscarried babies, but instead of aborted babies - babies killed while still alive in their mothers wombs.

I am glad you have written - dialogue is important - and again, I am sorry you too miscarried (or perhaps you are writing for your wife) a baby. Please try to educate yourself as to the difference between an aborted baby and a miscarried baby.

Tell me - are the photos of intact babies in utero hard for you to look at? Why or why not?

God bless you and Happy Memorial Day.

I don't need to educate myself. I am very well aware of the difference between an aborted baby and a miscarried baby. My miscarried baby was not exactly in tact.

You objected about this Day of Silence that it was so close to when a student had died in a car accident. I don't really see how one thing has anything to do with the other. These students were not parading around pictures of people that had died in car accidents were they?

Dear Anonymous - if you don't want to be educated, then you better quit living! I am educated every day of my God given life.

I do object to the day of Silence - first of all because the homosexual life style is disordered. Secondly because there is absolutely no need to do social engineering at a public, tax paid for, school.

My taxes are going towards the public schools, as are yours. I will continue to protest against whatever I wish to in this wonderful, currently FREE country of ours.

I have told you, I am sorry you lost your baby - I cannot change that. I also lost my child to a miscarriage - we have that in common. It is painful not to have our children here on earth with us, isn't it?

I also lost a child to an abortion. THAT was something that I could have done differently in my life. I will always speak out against abortion.

I do hope you will continue to read, I hope that you will post ... perhaps your insight to miscarriage versus abortion will educate other readers. THAT is not writing that you have had an abortion - I have had both.

What a way to take my words out of context. I was stating that I didn't need to be educated about the subject because I was already know full well the difference between a miscarried and an aborted baby.

"I do object to the day of Silence - first of all because the homosexual life style is disordered. Secondly because there is absolutely no need to do social engineering at a public, tax paid for, school.

My taxes are going towards the public schools, as are yours. I will continue to protest against whatever I wish to in this wonderful, currently FREE country of ours."

What exactly are you against? The fact that students are allowed to voice their concerns or that it is an issue that you don't agree with? Would you feel the same way if they had a day of silence for aborted babies?

Dear Anon - I am against social engineering - against an agenda of a lifestyle that has a shorter life expectancy, of a lifestyle that is disordered, being promoted in the public schools. The schools are operated with our tax dollars. I am opposed to the social engineering using MY money.

I have no problem with freedom of speech. I do have a problem when a national organization becomes involved in our schools under the guise of education, while all the while pushing the homosexual agenda. The GLTB club has a lot of private money behind it and it is not student driven, but driven by predatory behavior. I am all too familiar with homosexual predators.

Hmmm--- if the schools had a day of silence for the 50,000,000 and counting babies that have been killed in the U.S. since 1973? Would I be opposed to that? No more than I was opposed to the day of silence that the students automatically had when the car accident happened. You see, there is a difference between natural silence, grief and mourning, versus an engineered silence.

Were you silent when you miscarried your baby? I was - I was also silent when I aborted my baby.

I still miss both of my children.

Just imagine - 1/3 of the United States has been killed by abortion since 1973 - every day one of out every two black babies are killed and one out of four non black babies are killed.

Can you imagine that? I am so saddened by these numbers. The numbers are staggering.

Like I wrote - I do not believe in social engineering of anyone at the tax payers expense.

I did not take your words out of context, Anon - I simply repeated what you wrote - and although I do know a lot about miscarriage and abortion, I still learn something new about them every day.
