ALOHA!

walking along Waikiki - it was such a hard chore, but someone had to do it!

We just got back from a glorious five days in Honolulu. We were celebrating twenty three years of marriage.

One of my childhoood dreams was to stay at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel

Each time our family transited Honolulu to and from Tokyo, I thought how splendid it would be to be wealthy enough to afford to stay where the "rich" people stayed.

Little did I know that one day we would be blessed enough to be able to actually stay at the Royal Hawaiian and how fantastic our trip would be.

I have been searching the web for many years now, trying to figure out a way to travel to Honolulu and to be able to stay at my dream destination.

Recently, the Royal Hawaiian underwent a multi-million face lift. They re-opened their renovations with discounted rooms - still high enough to consider prayerfully, whether one should take the trip or not, but not too high that we could not afford the trip. So, along with our Alaska Airlines companion fare which permitted us to fly first class round trip, we flew to our island paradise.

Mel deciding what delicious breakfast items to eat the first morning we were in Honolulu. The meals at the hotel were five star ... the service topped out at ten! The wait staff was so pleasant and so attentive to our every need.

A not to be missed view from Mount Tantalus, a non tourist spot. Perfect weather, perfect anniversary trip...

More to come!

So glad ya'll had a good time; and the background for each photo were lovely to look at. HOWEVER, since ... I KNOW THAT AIRPLANES ARE TOOOOOO HEAVY TO GET OFF THE GROUND ... that was never on my list of where to visit. *smile*
