On Notice

I have told Gabe and Jordon that under no circumstances, if I contract or develop a terminal disease, do I wish to be part of Initiative 1000 that the voters in the State of Washington voted into law yesterday. I have written in red...

"VOTERS APPROVE ASSISTED SUICIDE INITIATIVE Voters our household did not vote for this initiative have approved Initiative 1000, making Washington the second state to give terminally ill people the option of medically assisted suicide. The measure is patterned after Oregon's "Death with Dignity" law. It allows a terminally ill person to be prescribed lethal medication. if a doctor, make that two, has decided that the patient only has six months to live and the patient expresses a desire to kill themselves orally and then in written form The medication would be self-administered. there are no safe guards on this ... there need be no witnesses to the death, so someone who wants another person dead can administer a lethal dose...and there is no rule as to where the pills need to be kept ... they can be resold, the way the law is written With about 30 percent of the expected vote counted yesterday in unofficial returns, I-1000 was being approved by a margin of about 58 percent to about 42 percent. Led publicly by Democratic former Gov. Booth Gardner, supporters said the initiative will provide a compassionate way for sick people to die. a rose by any other name is still a rose - 'a compassionate way for sick people to die' is how this was marketed, just like "choice" Suicide is suicide, killing is killing Gardner has Parkinson's disease which is not a fatal disease so he cannot even avail himself to this... but you watch, he will somehow convince his doctors that he needs the medication."

This new law, which 'permits' us mere mortals to play at being a god, is a bad law. There was much money from out of state to make this happen. The backers of the initiative advertised that religion was responsible for people to think against the initiative. And, the state of Washington is not a real churched state - in fact, it is very unchurched ...

I have to date, witnessed two peoples' deaths. Death is not pretty, death is not easy. The dignity that comes from death is the knowledge that we are not God, that God is the author of life and He alone is the one who calls us home in His time, not on our own time schedule.

and if we don't stand for Truth, we will fall for anything.

Good job, Sis!

I read that an insurance company in Oregon last year was refusing certain cancer drugs (as 'experimental') and in the same letter, letting patients know they would pay for termination drugs.

How have we sunk so far into depravity in such a relatively short time?
