I grew up with Father Paul after he completed his seminary. My mother welcomed him into Saint Michael's Parish in Olympia. My mother cooked for Father Paul, Father Marmo, Father Guzman, Father Jorgenson, Father Hayes, just to name a few. Father Paul was special, he always had kind things to say to me as a young child. His very distinctive laugh at our dinner table at home every Sunday will never leave my mind, or my 2 brothers and 6 sisters minds as well. He will be greatly missed. The lives that he touched over the years will never be forgotten.

Father Dalton was a part of my life forever. He baptized me, married me and baptized my daughters. He meant a lot to me, my siblings and my parents.

God Bless you, Father Dalton. We will miss you.

Joe and Emily - how wonderful that you knew Father Dalton in his life here on earth. Thank you for posting your memories of him. May you be comforted during this time of trial and may his memory bring a smile to your faces!

Blessings to you both and prayers for his entire parish family.

Like Joe, I grew up with Father Paul, as being one of Joe's six sisters.

He touched our family in unbelievable ways. He was a true friend to my parents, he helped us kids in our faith and he brought so much joy to our house. We have so many memories of Father Paul..., the overalls he made for the twins, his snort (ha!), the countless "Anderson" weddings he officiated, including my own. He was truly a part of our family and he will be in my heart forever.

I love you, Father!

Father Paul,

Over the years you have been a critical spoke in the evolution of our family. Your call now is to serve on a grander scale in a life yet unknown to us. Although your physical presence will be sorely missed, the thoughts of our continued relationship will sustain us.

Shalom old friend,
Mary and Andy

Father Paul Dalton was a fundamental part of my faith journey & baptized me (at age 33) in 1998 at our parish, Mary Queen of Peace. I was shocked when I saw his obituary in the Seattle Times this morning, then found your blog when looking online to see if there were any more information on the cause of death since it seemed such a surprise. He is and will be missed but thought of often and fondly!

Father Paul baptized me and my children in 2004 when I was 45 years old after many months in the RCIA at Mary, Queen of Peace Parish. In 2005, my husband and I were married again, this time in the church with Father Paul offciating. My son, Trent, was especially close to Father Paul and would spend many days after school at the church with him. We are all deeply saddened by his passing and hold on dearly to our wonderful memories of him and feel blessed that he was with us during these most sacred times in our lives. We will pray for him always and take comfort that he is his heaven now with Christ, and all the angels and saints somewhere over the rainbow.

Father Paul was an important part of my life. He baptized me, gave me my frst reconciliation, and my first communion. He was going to be my sponsor for confirmation and he was going to marry me, but God called him home early for an important reason I'm sure. R.I.P
